Responsibilities

• Provide and manage anesthesia for a full spectrum of cardiac surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacements, and other complex cardiac interventions.
• Provide tailored anesthesia care for thoracic and vascular surgical cases.
• Deliver anesthesia services for regional and outpatient surgical cases.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative patient evaluations, including advanced cardiac assessments, and develop individualized anesthetic plans.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia safely utilizing advanced monitoring techniques specific to cardiac cases (TEE, invasive line placement).
• Perform regional anesthesia techniques as appropriate for post-operative pain management.
• Manage patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) and critical care transit settings.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team including cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, and perfusionists.
• Participate equitably in the cardiac services call rotation.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Completion of an adult Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship is required.
• Valid and unrestricted New York medical license (or immediate eligibility for licensure).
• Strong clinical proficiency in high-acuity thoracic, vascular, and cardiac anesthesia.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced cardiac monitoring, TEE, and regional blocks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to navigate a fast-paced, high-stakes OR environment.
