Key Responsibilities

  • Administer safe intravenous (IV) monitored anesthesia care (MAC) and conscious sedation for outpatient interventional pain procedures and stem cell/stimulator trials.
  • Conduct focused pre-procedural patient evaluations, airway risk assessments, and health history reviews.
  • Continuously monitor intraoperative vital signs, depth of sedation, and airway stability throughout procedures.
  • Manage patient emergence and oversee post-anesthesia recovery unit (PACU) discharge criteria.
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic anesthesia medical records.
  • Work collaboratively with treating pain physicians, clinical staff, and procedural support personnel.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program (Master’s or Doctorate).
  • Current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) / CRNA licenses in the State of Texas.
  • Active Federal DEA registration and Texas Controlled Substances registration.
  • Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in procedural sedation/MAC for outpatient interventional pain cases.
  • Must possess independent malpractice insurance coverage.
